Brief introduction of blog, projects and partners

“Osaava Yritys – The development of competences of enterprises” is a joint blog of international projects that approach the competence development of companies in the Baltic Sea region from several perspectives.

Sustainabuild

The aim of the project is to give students of engineering programs in the construction industry information about the Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs) and the possibilities to consider the SDGs in practice, both in planning and implementation, as well as in connection with use, maintenance and repairs.

The project is managed by the project’s lead partner University College of Northern Denmark (UCN)

Wood for Youth

The aim of the project Wood for Youth is to increase the interest of the wood construction industry among young people and thereby get more skilled labor for companies in the branch. During the project, information and training packages will be developed for vocational and higher education.

The project is managed by the lead partner of the project, Estonian Woodhouse Association.

Easy Energy

The project Easy Energy collects and develops best practices for easy energy saving, disseminates information about these practices, and develops training packages on topics related to energy saving and renewable energy.

The lead partner of the project is Hanse Parlament e.V. from Germany. In Finland, the Satakunta University of Applied Sciences as partner and the city of Pori as associated partner are involved in the project.

BA&VET

The project BA&VET develops trainings combining vocational and higher education in the areas of responsible and sustainable management, energy efficiency and renewable energy.

The lead partner of the project is Hanse Parlament e.V.

DIG-CON

The project supports the digital transition of small and medium-sized companies in the construction branch by developing training and coaching for the companies’ needs.

Lead partner of the project is Hanse Parlament e.V. from Germany.

WIN4SMEs

The project WIN4SMEs develops HR competences of SMEs and creates competence centers in the countries participating in the project to meet the competence needs of the SME sector. The project starts on March 2024 and ends on March 2028.

The lead partner of the project is Hanse Parlament e.V. In Finland, the project is coordinated by Satakunta University of Applied Sciences. The other Finnish partners are vocational education institute Sataedu and the Satakunta Chamber of Commerce.

The following projects have either ended or are about to end.

The projects Inbets and Inbets+ promoted generational changes in companies by collecting and developing innovative practices to support generational changes and ensure the skills and abilities of the successor.

The project Bachelor&Meister developed dual studies in which professional skills and university-level theoretical knowledge met the needs of companies.

The project Intact developed ways to identify the competences and professional skills of immigrants and ways to assess the need for further training that would meet the needs of companies.

The Project KA For HR supported innovative companies and entrepreneurs by creating knowledge alliances (KA) that were focusing on the development of human resources (Human Resources, HR) and organizations.

The project WWW&CE develops the expertise of the companies in water, wastewater, waste and circular economy technologies and operations.

Projects, co-financed by the European Union, are managed by the Hanse-Parliament and the Baltic Sea Academy, the University College of Northern Denmark UCN (project Sustainabuild ) and the Estonian Wood Association (Project Wood for Youth).

Satakunta University of Applied Sciences is the Finnish partner of the projects.

University College of Northern Denmark (UCN) is a Danish university of applied sciences with its main campuses located in Aalborg.

Estonian Woodhouse Association is an association representing the Estonian wooden house industry and actors in the branch.

Hanse-Parlament is a cooperative organization of chambers of commerce and industry, artisan guilds and entrepreneurial organizations in the Baltic Sea region, whose goal is to support the operation and development of small and medium-sized companies in the countries surrounding the Baltic Sea.

Baltic Sea Academy was an organization consisting of universities of applied sciences and universities of science operating in the countries surrounding the Baltic Sea, and the Hanse Parlament, which acts as a bridge between the academic world and the business world and brings companies and universities to the same table. Baltic Sea Academy and Hanse Parlament have been merged, and now “Baltic Sea Academy” is an auxiliary business name of Hanse Parliament.

Erasmus+ is the funding programme of European Union for development projects related to education and training.

Interreg – Baltic Sea Region is the programme of European Union Regional Development Fund for funding development projects in the Baltic Sea region.

Interreg Central Baltic Programme is the programme of European Union Regional Development Fund for funding cross-border development projects targeting the regions of Sweden, Finland, Estonia, and Latvia.
